Les planètes / Planets

Plusieurs planètes sont citées au cours de la série. L'idée serait de faire une liste comprenant son nom original, nom donnée dans la VF, épisode d'apparition, son dirigeant, sa localisation ...

Pour la localisation des planètes (surtout par rapport à la Terre), il y a apparemment très peu d'éléments données dans la série, du moins en VF. Peut-être n'est-ce pas le cas en VO ou en version italienne ?

I like your idea and here is what I know:

Planet Vega (not Vegatron) is the name in VO and the Arabic Version (VA) which is equivalent to Stykadés in VF. Vegatron is the original name used in VO and VA to describe the radioactive radiation used by the Veghans to destroy Planet Fleed and the power source of all the Veghan army monsters.
Planet Vega was first mentioned in episode 2 but was first seen in ep 51 if I recall correctly. In episode 52, it was stated to be located 3000 light years from Earth.

Planet Fleed:

Its location is not clear or stated in the anime and/or in the Mazinger Bible or the Roman Album, but from reading in other forums some Japanese fans think that it's located 2,000,000 light years from Earth. I think this info was contained in one of the entertainment magazines.This of course contradicts what was presented in the anime in ep 72 that Planet Fleed was closer to Earth than Planet Ruby (Rubina passed by Planet Fleed on her way from Planet Ruby to the Moon). Also in ep 4, when Koji and Duke were eating fish and clams on the beach, Duke stated that they had a similar sunset on Fleed and they saw the same stars as Earth and gave them the same names too, so it's impossible for Planet Fleed therefore to be located so far away.

Other planets that you may wish to add:

Planet Ruby (first mentioned in ep 9) which was ruled by Rubina the daughter of Vega as stated in ep 72. The actual Planet wasn't shown.

The Planet of the Blue Angel (ep 15) which was destroyed by Vega and was rendered a mining exile for convicted political prisoners.

Planet Della (VO) or Delta (VA)- episode 29 from which Haruk came. The name of its ruler wasn't mentioned

Planet Zari Zari (ep 33) which was destroyed by Vega, and the harmful radiation led to the transformation of its tiny birds (the worm-like creature you saw in th epeisode) into the monstrous giant that fought Grendizer. By the way, in VO and VA, the child you see in this episode is actually Duke as a child playing with one of these Zari Zari birds (not his cousin as in VF).

Planet Walz (ep 34), from which Gauss came.

The Planet of Rough Seas (ep 41).

In episode 63, remote images appeared of a burning planet/star that Kerika was aiming to freeze in order for the Veghans to use it as an alternative homeland, but no more information was said about it.
Planet Morru (ep 71). Close to Planet Fleed, and ruled by Morrus' father.

That's all what I remember for now and I hope the information has been useful to you.

Thank you very much. You seem to know very well this theme ! Your interesting anwer helps me a lot and I realize there are some differences between versions. For exemple, for Ruby planet : In VF there are two different planets : in ep 9 its name is Concordia, but in ep72 it's Ruby !

Concordia (planète natale d'Eurydie / Mineo) : épisode #09 "Le camp de la Lune noire (réapparait également sous le nom de Ruby dans l'épisode #72 "La princesse amoureuse").

La Terre de l'ange blond, mieux connue sous le nom d'Akérèbe la Rouge : épisode #15 "Akérèbe la Rouge".

Apaisie (planète natale d'Atlas / Haruk ) : épisode #29 "L'oiseau de feu".

Vestalie (planète natale d'Ergastule / Gauss) : épisode #34 "Le mercenaire de l'oppression".

Hydra : planète #41 "Le baptême du feu".

Pallas (planète de Pollux, le meilleur ami d'Actarus) : épisode #71 "Le meilleur ami".

En revanche, je ne me souviens pas dans la VF d'une allusion à une quelconque planète dans l'épisode #33 "Les ailes de la mort" ...

I am gald that my information was useful to you. I won't call myself an expert on the issue of planets but I am rather a true Grendizer fan who tries her best to understand and learn everything that pertains her favourite anime in all the languages that it was dubbed in, and particularly VO.

Thanks for completing the names of the planets in French.
Indeed the producers of VF had modified a lot of the elements of VO and added a few more concepts creating the story of Goldorak which is not exactly the same as UFO ROBOT GRENDIZER. Episode 33 is a typical example of that.

Petite précision au sujet de la planète évoquée dans l'épisode #28 "Les nouveaux maîtres des ténèbres" :

Dans la scène où Horos fait découvrir à Minos / Minas les un des humanoÏdes qu'il compte utiliser pour vaincre Goldorak, il précise qu'il s'agit d'une forme de vie qui existe encore dans les régions australes d'Akérèbe la Rouge. On peut donc faire le rapprochement avec cette dernière.

D'autre part, Harmonia (évoquée dans l'épisode #52 "La génération des monstres" et détruite suite à la sur-exploitation de ses ressources minières) est désignée sous le nom de code X-14.

I have checked the name of satellite of Planet Vega in ep 52 of the arabic version and it's the same as the Japanese name

زيتا رقم 4 =Zeta number 4

One other thing, the Arabic Version (and the old Italian dubbing of 1978 I think) mentioned in episode 28 that Minister Zuril (Horos) came from Planet Zoro. This was not mentioned in the Japanese version of the anime but it was mentioned in Ota's manga (I think) and if I remember correctly, that planet in the manga was called Zuri or Zori. I am sure that your Japanese and Italian friends could confirm and correct this if it contains any errors.

For completion purposes, I recall that all the versions mentioned the Southern Cross in ep 4

Episode 30 => Planète Goda où on trouve le minerai qui sert construire l'Enbanju de l'épisode.

Epidode 40 => Planète Bui qui abrite des créatures qui puisent leur énergie des Transuraniens. L'Enbanju Bui-Bui est une version cybernétique de cette créature.
